About Me/Disclosure

About me

For as long as I can remember I've had a love for pens.

It all started when my Mum bought me my very first diary. "What shall I write about?" I asked. "Anything you like" was her reply. Of course a diary entry relies on a pen, so my fascination began.
I wrote stories, silly rhymes, drew pictures even though they were rubbish, I let rip about my terrible day at school ( grazed knees, lost tooth in the playground, made to play out in the cold, you get the picture), wrote lists, anything to make a mark in my beloved diary.

At first it was novelty pens. Furry ones, funny ones, big ones, tiny ones, wobbly ones. I loved how my friends would ask to borrow my pen, taking turns to write with them, oohing and aahhing. In a way that's when I first began reviewing pens, only I didn't realise I was doing it.

Promotional pens began to creep in. If we went on a day trip or school outing the sadness of having to make our way home at the end of the day always disappeared when I spotted the gift shop. I loved bringing home a promotional pen that would remind me of the fun times I had every time it was used.
A promotional pen wasn't just a pen to me. It was my way of documenting where I'd been. Some people take photos, I buy a pen. I wish I still had them now. Over time, and many house moves later, my collection disappeared. I'm all grown up now and don't get to do so many exciting trips anymore but family and friends will bring me pens from their travels when they can. It's their equivalent of a postcard.

Although I still have a fondness for novelty and promotional pens, I've moved onto 'proper' pens. Each pen is different from the last. There are so many pens out there to try, I'll never in my lifetime be able to review them all, mainly because I could never afford to review them all! Believe it or not, testing out a new pen is fun for me. Will I ever find 'the one'? A pen that is perfect in every way, and nothing else will ever come close?  Probably not. I don't think I want to either. My favourite food is Pizza but would I want to eat it every day? Not really.

I love hearing from fellow pen enthusiasts so if you liked a review, disagreed with a review, if you have any suggestions for future reviews or if you just want to say hi, then feel free to comment. I'm quite friendly and always willing to have a little chit chat :)

I hope you enjoy my blog

All my reviews are my own honest opinion and personal experience of that particular pen. You might love a pen that I hate or vice versa. It's all down to personal preference. I'm just here to tell you what I thought, not whether you should or shouldn't buy a particular pen. I'm occasionally lucky enough to recieve a pen at no cost for the purpose of a review but opinions are always my own and not influenced by others in any way.
